Hi, I am a NYC based personal trainer specializing in making women's (and the willing men's) glutes round and strong.
Until May 2019, I was a real estate fund tax accountant in one of the Big 4 public accounting companies. Big transition! yes... I wish I could give you an inspirational story of why I suddenly decided to take a leap of faith. But really it just hit me during my one-month vacation in Hawaii that I really want to live the rest of my life doing what actually makes me feel happy and fulfilled. (and hopefully one day... make a half of the salary I used to make as a tax accountant. Ha)
My specialty is developing round and strong glutes. Why glutes?
(1) Who doesn't want a nice rear?
(2) Glutes are the strongest and the biggest muscles on your body which means they can most efficiently improve your metabolism and help you lose fat (assuming that aligns with your goal)
(3) Strong glutes improve posture and prevent injuries surrounding the joints in the knees, hips, and lower back
(4) Strong glutes advance your running, jumping, lifting, twisting, snowboarding, hiking, biking, getting out of a chair, picking up the trash, dancing side to side, okay... I'm running out of space. It is safe to say glutes are one of the most functional muscles to train for your body
As much as I am obsessed with glutes training, I appreciate and understand the importance of training the whole body. My program (tailored to your specific aesthetic and strength goals) will generally develop the strength and size of the muscles in your whole body. As we train together your body composition will change (if that aligns with your goal) with appropriate diet, which I will help you along as you experiment with the ideal and sustainable eating habits over time.
When I am not training my clients, I'm probably either (1) sitting in front of my 43 inches curved monitor reading all things about glutes / resistance training, (2) hip thrusting or bench pressing, or (3) feeding my husband, Kelvin, and my dog, Riley, high protein meals in the kitchen.
I'm active on my Instagram (@jamssong) and post my own training routines, practical and helpful resistance training knowledges,
cooking videos, and my awful TikTok videos.
Enough of me.
